Christ promised he would build His Church. Hagerstown Church is a gracious example of his promise-keeping power.

In 1882, a small band of pastors from Baltimore, MD saw the need for a new church in Hagerstown. In due time, 15 men and women came together and became First Baptist Church. 137 years later, a church in Martinsburg, WV again saw the need for a church in Hagerstown. In similar fashion, 20 people came together in 2019 and planted Hagerstown Church. In 2021, First Baptist and Hagerstown Church merged and became one, their individual stories becoming one grand story testifying to God’s providence. Now in our 142nd year, Hagerstown Church strives to be a people helping people find and follow Jesus, just as those original 15 did nearly a century and a half ago.
